Music

Our acoustically designed room in the heart of Denver plays host to live jazz nightly (Tuesday through Sunday). Check the calendar below for set times as they may vary. Nocturne’s distinctive Artist in Residency programming is at the core of our line up. Most artists who perform at Nocturne engage in a four to eight week run that focuses on the exploration of a musical icon, the study of a jazz genre, or the exhibition of an Artist's own original work. This old-school approach to programming combines the unique opportunity to hone one’s craft with regular stage time, while also establishing an elevated rapport with Denver music fans. Nocturne is proud to be the only venue in Colorado that features jazz exclusively, and we are also pleased to feature national touring artists on special occasions.

ABOUT LIVE MUSIC AT NOCTURNE:

At this time, our live music performances are available by reservation only. By reserving your seat for dinner and a show you can enjoy the live music along with a three course menu by our talented culinary team. You can make a reservation on-line or via phone @ 303.295.3333.

In addition to dining on site, we recognize that some members of our community are unable to join us in person this summer. As such, we'll be live streaming several of our performances for you to enjoy from the comfort and safety of your home. Follow us at https://www.facebook.com/nocturnejazz/ for live streams and recordings of our past performances.

Supporting the musicians practicing their craft on our stage is important to us - your prepaid dinner reservation includes the artist fees that support fair pay to our music community. You can support in other ways such as purchasing music online, physical CD's or sending Venmo tips to your favorite artists. The music community is strong but still working to rebound from a lot of cancelled gigs during the COVID-19 pandemic. Your support of their craft will keep this art form alive.

Description

Seattle based Naomi Moon Siegel presents original music in a trio format featuring Peter Stoltzman on piano and Kim Bird on bass. A winner of an Earshot Jazz Golden Ear Award, her expressive trombone playing is changing the way the trombone is heard and viewed. Fusing folk melodies with fantastical soundscapes and tight grooves, her music is both introspective and celebratory, intimate and full. “Her uncommonly appealing writing has a subtle emotional depth that engages across genres and projects a rich, spacious sound." (AllAboutJazz).

Naomi holds a Bachelor of Music degree in jazz trombone performance from Oberlin Conservatory. After moving to Seattle in 2008, Siegel quickly became a mainstay of the world, experimental and jazz scenes. She has collaborated with many ensembles including The Jefferson Rose Band, Thione Diop’s Afro Groove, Picoso, Ahamefule J. Oluo’s Now I’m Fine, Daniel Barry’s Two Hemispheres and many of Wayne Horvitz’s projects. She has made appearances in the Earshot Jazz Festival, Sasquatch! and Bumbershoot. Living in Seattle’s rich musical climate supported her to develop her own musical voice rather than trying to fit into somebody else’s idea of how she should sound.
