Our acoustically designed room in the heart of Denver plays host to live jazz nightly (Tuesday through Sunday). Check the calendar below for set times as they may vary. Nocturne’s distinctive Artist in Residency programming is at the core of our line up. Most artists who perform at Nocturne engage in a four to eight week run that focuses on the exploration of a musical icon, the study of a jazz genre, or the exhibition of an Artist's own original work. This old-school approach to programming combines the unique opportunity to hone one’s craft with regular stage time, while also establishing an elevated rapport with Denver music fans. Nocturne is proud to be the only venue in Colorado that features jazz exclusively, and we are also pleased to feature national touring artists on special occasions.

At this time, our live music performances are available by reservation only. By reserving your seat for dinner and a show you can enjoy the live music along with a three course menu by our talented culinary team. You can make a reservation on-line or via phone @ 303.295.3333.

In addition to dining on site, we recognize that some members of our community are unable to join us in person this summer. As such, we'll be live streaming several of our performances for you to enjoy from the comfort and safety of your home. Supporting the musicians practicing their craft on our stage is important to us - your prepaid dinner reservation includes the artist fees that support fair pay to our music community. You can support in other ways such as purchasing music online, physical CD's or sending Venmo tips to your favorite artists. The music community is strong but still working to rebound from a lot of cancelled gigs during the COVID-19 pandemic. Your support of their craft will keep this art form alive.

Throughout his prolific career Brad Mehldau has explored and expanded the reaches of expression both at the piano and within the classic piano trio format. His approach dives to new depths of harmony, rhythm, and technique while always carefully speaking the heart of a song. Jack Dunlevie pays homage to this trio with his own featuring Hunter Roberts on bass and Kevin Matthews on drums.

Jack Dunlevie is a Denver-based pianist, mandolinist, vocalist, and composer. He graduated in 2015 from the Lamont School of Music at the University of Denver winning awards in composition and recital performance. Performing full time around Colorado and touring nationally he can be heard playing Jazz, Classical, Salsa, and Bluegrass with a variety of bands both as a side man and as a leader.

An $8 per guest artist fee applies to this show. Reservations recommended!

The piano trio has been a major voice in the pantheon of jazz history. Every major step forward in the development of this music has been driven by, or responded to, by a great piano trio. The magic which can come from three musicians coming from the same psychic space can be truly breathtaking! The swinging excitement of Red Garland, the energy of Oscar Peterson, the sophistication of Ahmad Jamal, the exquisite beauty of Bill Evans will all be visited by trio of Denver's finest: Jeff Jenkins, Seth Lewis and Todd Reid.

Mike Marlier Trio: Can't Stop - Won't Stop

Mike Marlier - drums, Bijoux Barbosa - bass, Camilla Vaitaitis - piano

Growing up in Sandusky, Ohio Mike Marlier started playing drums at the age of five, and hasn't stopped. A lifetime in music was established from the day he was born, as he was immersed in the jazz records his father played both at home and on the radio station where he worked. Mike attended the prestigious Interlochen Arts Academy in 1975, then went on to further studies at Bowling Green State University - after graduating Mike moved to Denver in 1981. Marlier has performed and recorded with countless artists and musicians, including Dave Grusin, Benny Golson, Bobby Shew, Rob Mullins, the Neophonic Jazz Orchestra, Lee Ritenour and Stanley Jordan. He maintains a vigorous recording schedule, as well as a private teaching studio, a professorship at the University of Denver Lamont School of Music and often can be found adjudicating jazz festivals across the nation. Mike is a Nocturne Artist in Residence alumni and we are honored to welcome him back to our stage with this stellar trio!

The David Bernot Trio

David Bernot, born and raised in Gilbert Arizona, moved to Denver in 2012 to study jazz performance at the University of Denver. Since earning a Bachelors of Music  from DU’s Lamont School of Music David has played professionally a jazz musician and freelance saxophonist ( in funk, pop & EDM categories).. In addition to playing, David also teaches a private studio, and is faculty with the Colorado Conservatory for the Jazz Arts.

The Ryan Fourt Trio

Ryan Fourt - guitar, Tom Amend - organ, Ed Breazeale - drums

Ryan Fourt started his career by studying jazz guitar with Professor James Greeson, the great Dale Bruning and New York guitarist Mark Elf.  In 2004, Ryan moved to Northern Colorado and established himself as an in-demand player, sharing the stage with local and national talents such as Brad Goode, Peter Sommer, Dana Landry, Ken Walker, Dave Pope, Gareth Malone, Jeff Jenkins, Devin Hoff, Alvin Lucier, Chris Lee, Ben Markley, Erik Applegate and Paul McKee. Currently Ryan lives in Loveland Colorado and maintains a busy performance schedule with various jazz and pop groups along the front-range and mountain west regions. In addition to performing, Ryan is also an adjunct instructor of jazz guitar and lecturer at the University of Wyoming in Laramie.
